  Nezaket Ekici Video Performance: Ammo, 2007 DVD PAL 2:38 min. Loop Limited edition of 10 The Video Performance "Ammo" shows a balloon, on which only the hands of the artist are moving. The fingernails of the artist are red coloured and differentiate clearly from the background. The perspective leads to the absurd impression, as if the balloon and the hands exist in a universe of itself. The artist treats the balloon intensely, and besides, produces the typical noise of a finger treated balloon, destorted by slow motion. She works on the balloon heavily with her hands till her nails ruptures the balloon. The bursting is accompanied by a loud bang, which reminds of a shot. At the same moment the artist appears in her military dress behind the balloon.This is a surprising moment for the viewer, who now sees the absurd situation dissolved. The meaning of the situation is changed suddenly. The absurdity is replaced with an unexpected radical sense. The context of the innocent treatment of a balloon is switched to a war like situation.
